Welcome To Noreen Denzil

We are very pleased to welcome new artist Noreen Denzil to www.bigemptywall.com

Noreen Denzil is a self-taught portrait artist, born in Glasgow, and has recently moved to Cambridgeshire from London. She specialises in iconic portraiture and her main medium is pastels. Noreen’s objective with her paintings is to capture the characteristics and personality that symbolises the icon. Her work has successfully exhibited in Central London, Glasgow and Sussex which include solo exhibitions in Cork St, Mayfair. Her main inspirations and influences are a variety of artists from Salvador Dali to Michelangelo Caravaggio and photographers such as David Bailey and George Hurrell. Noreen says ‘I try to emulate the realism of Caravaggio’s work and powerful portraits by David Bailey in my work. Using pastels helps me to capture the soft tones of the subject’s face.’

May Image Of The Month - OneLinerImage: Bluecat III - By Ed Munn

www.bigemptywall.com is very pleased to feature OneLinerImage: Bluecat III by Ed Munn as our new Image of the Month.

"This OneLinerImage was created as a logo. It is a cat facing right. It is solid blue and would make a good pair with Bluecat." says Ed.

These hand drawn and coloured images consist of a continuous single line which defines the outline of the animal or plant depicted and represents the layer that characterises the surface of the cells of which living organisms are composed; the line is regularly indented to represent the intricate and complex internal structure of living cells and also their interaction with the environment.

This unique image is available as a signed and numbered limited edition print from £30.
